PRIMORIX organized a webinar titled “The Focal Point: The Importance of Directing the Viewer’s Attention,” which focused on teaching participants the concept of focal points in visual and multimedia design. The session explored methods for guiding the viewer’s eye, including the use of contrast, scale, color, and composition to emphasize key elements. Participants also learned how focal points can enhance clarity, storytelling, and overall visual impact. The webinar was held online via Google Meet on December 7, 2025 (Sunday), from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

The resource speaker was Ms. Athena Ismael, an artist from TopDraw Animation. The audience consisted of students from various schools, primarily college students interested in art, design, and multimedia. Through the webinar, participants gained a deeper understanding of how focal points are essential in visual communication. They learned that effective design goes beyond mere aesthetics and involves intentionally guiding the viewer’s attention to the most important elements. Ms. Athena demonstrated how careful use of contrast, color, and composition can significantly improve both the clarity and storytelling impact of visual works.

By understanding how to manipulate contrast, scale, color, and composition, designers can make their work more engaging, clear, and purposeful. The webinar also emphasized the importance of being intentional in design choices, encouraging participants to critically evaluate and improve their own creations.
